Dr. Remya Krishnan MD, PhD (Ay.) is the co-pioneer and principal architect for coining the terminology and concept of Science Based Evidence Based Ayurveda (SBEBA). She constantly criticised Ayurvedic medical community for not comprehending and adopting the rational knowledge and standards of Ayurvedic Science Based Medicine.In one of her landmark publications titled Evidence Based Ayurveda & Rational Prescribing, she defined and illustrated the method of Evidence Triad Approach (ETA), the golden standard of Ayurvedic Clinical Decision Making (developed by SBEBA Research with Dr. Rajkumar) to prove the innate scientificity, accuracy and swift-efficacy of Ayurvedic Medicine. Her innovative discoveries and publication in Ayurvedic Gynaecology and Ayurvedic Clinical Pharmacology are instrumental and pivotal in conventional scenario of practice of Ayurvedic Gynaecology and Maternity Care and in general. She emerged with six innovative scientific publications aimed at the renaissance of Ayurveda and at equipping Ayurvedic medical professionals with the updated SBEBA methodology for teaching, clinical practice, and research.
Dr. Rajkumar MD, PhD (Ay.) is the pioneer of SBEBA, spearheading foundational knowledge with utmost precision and advancements in Ayurvedic Science Based Medicine through extensive basic and applied research. His work establishes 'Ayurvedic Diagnostic Rationale' for modern ailments, bridging the gap with exhaustive Translational research for perfect Clinical decisions. Alongside Dr. Remya Krishnan, he has identified the significant, measurable scientific impacts of rational clinical practice in contrast to the uncertainity-driven conventional approach. Furthermore, the research and methodologies of Science-Based Evidence-Based Ayurveda (SBEBA) have been continuously validated, refined, and successfully applied for over two decades by other physicians also, professionally trained in this discipline. His publication, 'Unveiling the Truths in Ayurveda', remains a landmark contribution and foundation for unique expertise of SBEBA wisdom impacting patient care, clinical education, and driving medical innovation.

Dr. Sunila V A embarked on an entrepreneurial path immediately upon graduating — establishing and running her own clinical practices across India and abroad, building first-hand knowledge of what it truly takes to sustain an independent Ayurvedic medical enterprise. That real-world experience gave her a clear-eyed view of the gap between academic training and the demands of professional practice.
It was within this context that she encountered SBEBA — and the recognition was immediate. The Deterministic Science of Ayurveda, the precision of the clinical framework, and the accountability it demands aligned directly with her own understanding of what rigorous, trustworthy practice must look like. Dr. Sunila V A has since been a committed advocate of the SBEBA methodology and brings to the Institute both her entrepreneurial acumen and her conviction that SBEBA is the definitive foundation for clinical Ayurvedic practice.

Is this programme recognised by a government body or university?
This is a professional certificate programme and is not currently affiliated with a government-recognised university for a statutory degree or diploma. While we are actively pursuing formal academic recognition, the clinical transformation and scientific framework we deliver stand firmly on their own merits.
What is the Deterministic Science of Ayurveda?
Ayurveda as it was intended — a science of causal reasoning enabling intended, transparent and predictable clinical outcomes. SBEBA operates deterministically: from each patient's specific morbid environment to the specific therapeutic response that environment, understood scientifically, demands.
For whom is this training intended ?

Does the programme involve any procedural training?
No. The SBEBA clinical protocol does not involve procedural treatments of any kind. The entire methodology is non-procedural — achieving its outcomes through the precision application of the SBEBA Diagnostic and therapeutic framework.
What is the Scientific Nutrition Schedule (SNS)?
SBEBA's systematic, evidence-informed framework for nutritional and lifestyle prescription — an integral part of the SBEBA therapeutic protocol. Patient-specific, calibrated to the individual's morbid environment, which is modified to produce a hostile environment to the cause-mechanism in the afflicted system to facilitate internal homeostasis and thereby health.
How is this different from a typical online course?
It requires first of all unlearning and relearning Basic and Applied Science of Ayurveda with sustained, supervised, expert-guided engagement with real cases in a real clinical setting.
What sets this apart from a short workshop?
Six months, full-time Hands on Training is done here . The clinical competence SBEBA training produces cannot be transmitted through a screen or in a weekend. It requires first and foremost deep unlearning and relearning of Basic and Applied Science of Ayurveda along with sustained, supervised, expert-guided “self intellectual engagement” in real world clinical setting .
Does SBEBA program mean ignoring classics of Ayurveda ?
No , SBEBA program doesn’t replace Samhitas rather it emerges quality precision and clarity in the knowledge and application of Samhitas by enabling physician to culture intelligence in the same.
What is the structure of the six-month programme?
The programme runs across two sequential phases. Phase I spans five months and comprises 300 hours of structured teaching — covering SBEBA Foundations, the Unique Patient Environment evaluation framework, Shaastrasahita-Tarka clinical decision-making, SBEBA protocols across disease categories, the Scientific Nutrition Schedule, and the Doctorpreneur curriculum for independent practice. Phase II is a one-month supervised clinical internship at the SBEBA Clinic, Kochi, open exclusively to candidates who qualify the eligibility test conducted at the conclusion of Phase I.
What is the eligibility test and how does it work?
The eligibility test is administered at the end of the five-month teaching phase and determines a candidate's readiness for clinical internship. It is not an academic examination in the conventional sense — it assesses the quality of clinical reasoning, the depth of SBEBA comprehension, and the ability to apply the framework to real clinical scenarios. Internship admission is strictly conditional upon qualifying this test. Candidates who do not qualify at the first attempt are given a re-attempt opportunity under Institute guidelines. The internship fee is applicable only after eligibility is confirmed.
What does the clinical internship involve?
The one-month internship is conducted at the SBEBA Clinic, Kochi — the co-located out-patient consultation facility managed by the pioneers of SBEBA. Under direct supervision, participants apply the full SBEBA clinical framework to real patients: structured evaluation, clinical decision-making, protocol design, and tracking of therapeutic response. This is active, supervised practice — not observation. It is the point at which the methodology ceases to be a discipline studied and becomes a discipline lived.
Why should a practicing Ayurvedic physician do this programme specifically?
Because the training most Ayurvedic physicians received — however rigorous — did not equip them with the clinical framework needed to practice Ayurveda as the Deterministic Science it is. The profession, broadly, has defaulted to procedural therapy, polytherapy, or mixopathy — not out of incompetence, but because no structured alternative was made available. SBEBA is that alternative. It does not ask you to abandon your qualifications. It asks you to use them as they were always intended — with scientific precision, clinical accountability, and the ability to produce intended, transparent, predictable outcomes for every patient you see.
What range of conditions can a physician address using the SBEBA framework?
SBEBA addresses virtually all conditions that do not require surgical intervention — including Type 2 Diabetes, Thyroid disorders, PCOD and hormonal conditions, Autoimmune diseases, Inflammatory joint conditions, Cardiovascular conditions, Respiratory disorders, Gastrointestinal conditions, Neurological conditions, and complex multi-system presentations. The framework is not condition-specific. It is a universal clinical method that applies with equal rigour to every patient's unique morbid environment, irrespective of diagnosis.
Is this programme suitable for those who already hold an MD in Ayurveda?
Yes — and many MD holders find that SBEBA represents the most significant clinical development of their professional lives. The SBEBA framework is taught in no postgraduate Ayurvedic curriculum, regardless of specialisation. An MD provides depth within a defined academic area; SBEBA provides the systematic, deterministic clinical methodology that makes that depth consistently and practically applicable — across every patient, every condition, every clinical encounter.
Do I need prior exposure to SBEBA before applying?
No prior exposure is required. The programme builds the complete SBEBA clinical framework from its scientific foundations. Candidates who have previously attended workshops, seminars or courses conducted by the pioneers are encouraged to mention this in their application — not as a criterion for selection, but as useful context for the admissions committee.

What accommodation is available in Kochi for the duration of the programme?
The Institute does not provide residential accommodation. Kochi offers a wide range of options at every budget — from shared dormitory stays from Rs. 500 per night to longer-term PG arrangements, service apartments, and fully serviced residences. The city is well-connected, practical, and an excellent base for the duration of the programme.
